FOOD

The Platform Cafe is open to the public between 9am and 3pm from Tuesday to Saturday to eat in or take away. The daily changing menu is vegetarian and vegan, offering nutritious, homestyle cooking.

We celebrate seasonal and sustainable produce, using fresh herbs, salads and greens grown at Loughborough Farm. Dishes are always colourful and vibrant, reflecting the diverse food cultures of Loughborough Junction.

The cafe sells delicious homemade cakes and sweet treats led by our talented team member Milly Berenger. Bakes are seasonal, often using locally foraged and farm herbs, sharp citrus, ripe fresh fruit and berries, vegetables (think courgettes, carrots, beetroot), and enriched with nuts and chocolate. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.

London-based supplier Galeta Bakery delivers us fresh sourdough bread and pastries each morning, and our coffee is supplied by Old Spike, a speciality coffee roastery and social enterprise supporting people affected by homelessness, based over the road at LJ Works.

You can also find homemade kombucha, sauerkraut and kimchi in our display fridge, made by local farm volunteer Fermenting Joy.

Alongside farm produce, we use donations and surplus produce from City Harvest and Plan Z Heroes, as well as local allotments and community gardens. We aim for zero waste and compost our peelings at Loughborough Farm, as part of a circular economy.

We also provide a catering service: anything from breakfast meetings to office lunches to weddings and parties. Our offer includes healthy lunches, sharing platters and buffets, canapes and celebration cakes.
